Salasar Dham- Hub of Miracles

Salasar dham is the place where Hanuman devotees can visit. It is a world-famous Hindu temple of lord Hanuman. This amazing temple is located in the Churu district of Rajasthan. It attracts a number of devotees all over the year. Here the idol of Balaji is in the Daas Roop of Bhagwan Ram Chandra.

This is the only temple of Hanuman Ji in India that has a beard and mustache. Mohandas Ji built the temple of Salasar Balaji Dham in 1754 AD with the help of Muslim craftsmen Noora and Dau.

History of Salasar Dham


The story of Salasar Balaji is not well known but it is quite exciting. Here, the story begins with the Hanuman devotee Shri Mohan Das ji. He was the person who left his household for his sister Kanhi Dadi. He was in such a spirituality that he talked to Lord Hanuman. And there was such a beautiful bond between the two that Hanuman ji himself came to Mohan Das ji.

Before their meeting, there was a miracle. As there was a village near Asota, where a farmer was digging on his farm. And found a stone which he removed and threw away. After that, he got stomach pain from which he got relief when his wife came and cleaned the stone on which she found a beautiful idol of lord Hanuman Ji.

The wife of the peasant not only established the idol but also worshipped it. Later on, they handed over the idol to the king of the village. The king had a dream that night to hand over the idol to his devotee Mohan Das Ji. At that same time, Mohan Das Ji had a dream of Balaji that he was coming to him. In 1755, (Vikrami, Shravan Shukla Navami), on Saturday Balaji reached Mohan Das Ji. Then balaji was established in Salasar Balaji Dham and from that day to till date the faith of devotees has only increased.

Unrevealed facts of Salasar Dham

Some of the unrevealed facts has given below-

  • Well – There is a well in Salasar Balaji Dham temple. The fact about the well is that the water comes from five rivers. The temple uses all the water taken from that well. Also, there is a saying that for stomach disease this water is so beneficial.
  • Chariot – The chariot on which the idol of Balaji came from the village Asota is still present in Salasar Balaji Dham. The temple safely keeps that chariot.
  • Clothes- In the darbar of the temple, there is a cushion filled with Mohan Dass ji’s kurta. Also, the temple authority has safely kept the bracelets of Shiromani Mohan Das ji Maharaj.
  • Akhand Jot- Shri Mohan Das ji Maharaj ignited the Akhand jot in the temple 300 years ago. The other popular name for Akhand jot is “Dhuni”. Also, there is a famous saying that “Dhuni ki Vibhuti” is beneficial for any disease or problem.
  • Beard & Mustache The idol in this temple is the only one that has a beard and mustache. Mohan Das ji made this beard and mustache because he saw Balaji in Saint Roop with a beard and mustache.

Rituals to perform

  1. Coconut tying There is a recognition about the Salasar Balaji Dham that for the fulfillment of desires, the devotees tie up a coconut with a piece of red cloth in the temple.
  2. Savamani- After the desires of devotees have fulfilled they come and perform savamani in which they prepare Churma, Boondi, fruits, laddu, etc. Firstly, the savamani  offered to lord Hanuman and then distributed among devotees or the poor.
  3. Parikrama- The devotees in the temple perform parikrama around the idol the Balaji. In the devotion of Balaji people chant prayers and Hanuman Chalisa.
  4. Gath Joda- Many couples visit Salasar Balaji after marriage and take blessings of Balaji. Also, people go there for the first mundan of their babies. In other words, it is Jhadulia.

Samadhi Sthal

In the temple of Salasar Balaji Dham, there is a place named Samadhi Sathal.  Shri Mohan Das Ji and Kanhi Dadi have taken samadhi at that point in the devotion of Hanuman ji. 

Near the samadhi of Mohan Das Ji, there is a peg or stake where Mohan Das Ji tied up his bull.
There is a saying about the stake that even the fat individual can easily pass through from that little space. This place has closed at present time.

Anjani Mata Mandir

Panna Ram ji built the temple of Anjani Mata. Anjani Mata is the mother of lord Hanuman. In this temple, lord hanuman is in his Baal Swaroop. Further, the idol of Hanuman is in the lapels of Mata Anjani.

Especially Mata Anjani blesses married females here. Devotees who visit Salasar Balaji must have a visit to Anjani Mata Mandir.

Once Panna Ram Ji dreamt about Anjani Mata in which she was telling him to make a temple of her.

In short, the Salasar Balaji is one of the four main Dhams of Balaji in all over India. In the beginning, the idol of Balaji was found with Ram-Lakshman on the shoulders of Balaji. Later on, Mohan Das Ji designed the idol as per the roop of Balaji he saw in his dreams.

In the Balaji temple, Garbh-garh consists of all Devi-Devtas. To sum up, Salasar Dham is the hub of miracles. One can easily stay there because of the fully facilitated area and surroundings.
